Text Box: Hello, my name is Paul Hopfensperger (Hoffy). On the morning of Tuesday July 10, 2007, I dived into the English Channel at Samphire Hoe, near Dover at 06:49 Hrs, and swam for 13 Hrs 52 minutes. At 20:41 Hrs, I walked ashore at Wissant in France to become only the 873rd person in history to have swum the English Channel.
Why did I do this? To help try and raise £50,000 for the following two charities:
●	CLIC Sargent - The UK’s Leading Children’s Cancer Charity
●	St Nicholas’ Hospice - Located in Bury St. Edmunds, St. Nicholas Hospice provides palliative care for people throughout West Suffolk and Thetford with life-limiting illnesses and supporting those who care for them.
How can you sponsor me for the swim? There are three options:-
Click on the “DONATE!” button on either the CLIC Sargent or St. Nicholas’ Hospice boxes on the bottom right hand side of this page. OR;
Please send a cheque payable to “Hoffy’s Channel Swim” to the address shown below.

No matter how high the mountain is, it can be compared to a small tomb under the heaven.

So if a man attempted to climb it, there would be no reason why he can’t succeed.

But very often one claims the mountain is too high without even attempting to climb it.

Ancient Korean proverb.

There’s no such word as “can’t”!
